Camper Background: Teen Week is open to all campers within the age range, from any background or hometown!
“In the middle and high school years, many students are just beginning to grow in their faith. Many others are experiencing challenges in their faith for the first time. At Teen Week, our number one goal is simply to help middle and high school students grow in their faith and navigate the challenges they face in this world. We accomplish this in a number of ways, such as through worship, Bible classes, devotionals, quiet time, and more.
Each year, we focus on a particular theme that is especially relevant to middle and high school students. Each camper receives a booklet at the beginning of the week that contains Bible class material and quiet time material. These booklets are a valuable Bible resource that can be used even when campers go back home.
Not only do we want our campers to grow closer to God, we want them to grow closer to each other. We believe that connection to others in the Body of Christ is critical for our faith as well. Each year, we see campers build relationships that last a lifetime, and we see many others reconnect after being away from each other for months. We provide a number of opportunities for campers to connect with one another and build relationships throughout the week.
We pack our schedule with sports tournaments, games/activities, swim time, team time, cabin time, and more. Teen week is an incredible, faith building week! If you’re a 6th-12th grade student, please join us for camp this year!”
Our summer age ranges from 1st grade to 12th grade depending on the week. But we open our gates to anyone and everyone year round for retreats and other weeks of camp!
Our cabins each sleep 22 total campers and staff in twin-sized bunks. Four of our cabins have attached bathrooms inside the cabin. The other four cabins have a detached bath house. The cabins are insulated and air-conditioned for comfort even on the hottest Mississippi summer days.
GCBC is staffed individually each week by volunteers from local congregations. We also have four staff lifeguards and our camp director that are here all summer long.
